PROBE DROID DISPATCH PODS STUDIO SCALE REPLICA PAGE

Welcome to the STUDIO SCALE ESB Probe droid DISPATCH POD replica page.  This is a studio scale replica of the filming model.  There were two versions made for the film.  They are both represented here as STL projects and RESIN PRINTS.  You can tell them apart by looking at the nozzle section.  Version 2 has struts attached midway up the nozzle, Version 1  has no struts.  The detail on these two models is highly engaging so I would recommend printing in resin.  Email: impervium@hotmail.com

DISPATCH POD - STL FILE SET (no physical media)

Here you can see both versions 1 and 2 of the dispatch pod filming miniatures.

This project is available as both a 3D file set and a physical model (resin 3D print and castings).

 VERSION 1 (SHORTER) DISPATCH POD: breaks down into the following parts:

  1. MAIN HULL (Hollow to save material and weight - all 5 chasses connected
  2. Main engine Bell (pre-drilled holes ready for LED lighting)
  3. 5 subthruster assemblies
  4. 5 circular hatches
  5. 5 ribbed panels
  6. 5 upper panels
  7. 5 attitude thruster assemblies
  8. 5 lamp fixtures
  9. top cap
  10. bottom chassis

VERSION 2 (LONGER) DISPATCH POD KIT breaks down into the following parts:

  1. MAIN HULL (Hollow to save material and weight - all 5 chasses connected
  2. Main ENGINE BELL (ready for LED install pre-drilled holes)
  3. 5 circular hatches
  4. top cap
  5. bottom chassis
  6. 5 attitude thruster housings
  7. 5 attitude thruster assemblies
  8. 5 engine bell supports
  9. 5 thruster supports

Both kits include both versions (reduced part count and extended part count)

 

 


HOW IT WAS MADE:

  

  

 

At the stage you see here, the version 1 is nearling completion.  More refinement is needed on the chassis and then trimming with tubes, creating the underside enclosure and hyper detailing the upper and lower surfaces.
