Who cannot resist the lovely charm of Audrey II? Certainly not us! This wonderful replica was sculpted in WED clay in closed-mouth form initially, then cast in rtv rubber, molded in plastic, split apart, then the sculpting continued for the inner mouth and tongue. Enjoy!
I make THREE versions of the man-eating plant! 1.) the baby 2.) Jumbo CLOSED mouth 3.) Jumbo OPEN MOUTH.

DELUXE OPEN MOUTH BUILDUP:
Sculpting team: Tyler Cooper Body and inner mouth. Cristofer Adrian: tongue, stem, teeth, molding and casting.
Shout out to Mireles Design and Chuck Westfield for helping paint and assemble this monster.
Replica: I start by creating foam armatures, then coated them in urethane, then a hardshell of sculpey baked to a stone hard consistency.
Now it's time to begin sculpting in a wax based clay. We decided to UPSIZE the stage 2 Audrey and give it some characteristics of the stage IV Audrey. (i.e. teeth, purple interior mouth, etc...)
This sculpture was then molded in RTV rubber, a resin shell was cast, then split at the mouth line to be able to continue sculpting an interior. This hard copy also allowed me to create a built-in mount system to the stem.
Blocking in the shapes for the inner mouth...
Final sculpt on the upper and lower palets, tongue and stem.
First test assembly (resin castings) on the OPEN MOUTH Version.
