The Kraken is modeled at studio scale, which is 14 1/4" wide from side to side. You can upscale it or downscale it as you please.

Both the front and rear pair of robotic arms are engineered jointed for articulation. A magnet can be used at each articulation point to make freely moving/locking arm, or you can connect them with metric nuts and bolts.

HOW IT WAS MADE:
The shapes are first blocked in, and then adjusted. What you see here is body version number 4 which is the final blocked version.
The engine pods are the first parts to be detailed. Sections are kept separted to make 3d printing and painting easier down the road.

The arms are being designed to be adjustable. Here you can see the magnetic pins that will hold the joints together and allow them to move about and then secure in stowed position.
